 Scorpio 2018

2018 Overview

Scorpio Horoscope
This is your year Scorpios, the year that everything until now has lead up to and everything from now will lead on from. It was Jupiter’s return to Scorpio in October 2017 that not only kicked off an expansive year, full of the potential for major new beginnings but a new 12 year Jupiter cycle of expansion. Having the planet of luck and expansion in your sign is traditionally your luckiest year in over a decade, but don’t put that kind of pressure on yourself and life. It is often only in hindsight that we look back on Jupiter’s yearlong visit and appreciate that luck really was on our side. For Jupiter won’t let you stay small and that may mean he has to challenge you at times. It might also mean that life has to take you in directions that might seem like anything but good luck at the time, with a lot of faith and trust required. What is not in doubt is that this is a year for major new beginnings and for personal growth. While Uranus will return to your relationship sector on the 16th May to begin your most important relationship journey of a lifetime, Jupiter has enough of a head start that they will never move into opposition. For this not only puts Uranus in your relationship sector but in your opposing sign and on the other side of the sky. This will call for a balance between your personal and relationship needs, but this is unlikely to be a major challenge. Instead, you will benefit from the extra authenticity this brings both personally and in your relationships. In the meantime, 2018 will see a swing away from an extreme focus on income, work and career matters. The advantages will remain and the first five months of the year, in particular, will be busy, with some relationship opportunities on the work and career fronts. The difference this year is that the professional gods themselves are scaling back and money won’t be the driving factor that it was. The last three years can be likened to the massive force required to lift a passenger jet off the ground and up to cruising altitude, as opposed to when it’s cruising in the upper atmosphere. The last three years was the climb and this is the year where you’re cruising, with things more likely to come to you across the income, work and career fronts. This is being balanced by more focus on your personal life. Not only will Uranus’ return to your relationship sector on the 16th May usher in a powerful new relationship chapter that will run through to 2026, but matters of the heart and all things fun, playful, romantic and creative also get a real boost this year. Finally, you may be able to achieve that balance between work and play that has been so elusive over recent years.

Love

Both the love and relationship gods are smiling on you this year, in more ways than one. On the romantic front, this is a continuation of the past five years, though with some notable exceptions. Neptune, in your romantic sector since 2012, is here until 2026 while Chiron, here since 2010, will begin transitioning out this year. Chiron will leave on the 17th April, return on the 26th September and then finally leaves next February, not to return for another five decades. As the planet of healing, Chiron has found it hard to let go of the past, so this represents the start of the process of letting go. This will make matters of the heart more the domain of dreamy Neptune. Matters of the heart will also get a boost from Venus this year, both when she moves through your romantic sector from the 11th February to the 7th March and when she makes not one but two visits to Scorpio this year. Before then, there will be a lot of support for what Venus kicks off on the 11th February, with the love gods pouring extra resources into matters of the heart, right through to the 28th April. With Chiron leaving on the 17th April, this will leave dreamy Neptune on his own, for the first time since arriving in 2012. Meanwhile, Venus, the planet of love will return to Scorpio on the 9th September, but instead of moving through in just 24 days, as she did in 2017, she will turn retrograde on the 6th October and will retrograde back out on the 1st November. After turning direct Venus will return for a double dip visit from the 3rd December to the 8th January 2019, seeing out the year here. Throughout that time Venus will work with Neptune to create as much romantic magic as possible. Yet is on the relationship front that there are some once in a lifetime developments, with Uranus returning to your relationship sector on the 16th May, for the first time since 1942. Uranus is the first of the outer planets to visit your relationship sector since then and for most of us, therefore the first time in our lifetime. What an outer planet does is keep the focus here for years and while Uranus will leave on the 7th November, he will return next March, where he’ll stay until 2026. This is the start of a major new relationship journey, with Uranus needing something real and authentic. With Venus in your relationship sector from the 31st March to the 25th April, the Sun from the 20th April to the 21st May and Mercury from the 14th May to the 30th May, there will be support in the lead up to Uranus’ return on the 16th May and in his early weeks.

Money

After three years in your income sector, Saturn left at the end of 2017, wrapping up a visit that began in December 2014. It was during that three year period that the hard work was done, not just on the income front but professionally as well. By the time you move into 2018 it will appear as though things have run their course, but there is every reason to expect that income matters will catch their second wind. Even though there will be another round of planetary activity on the income front later in the year, the money gods aren’t quite finished with exploiting the potential created over the last three years. The year begins with Mercury on his own in your income sector with the Sun, Saturn and Venus having all left within five days of each other in December. This allows you to start the year with a smart head for money and your head in the game, but for all intense and purposes in the process of tying up loose ends. The fact that Mercury will leave on the 11th January, with no other planets to pass the baton onto, could be seen as evidence that this was the end of things. That is not the case, with Mars’ return from the 27th January to the 18th March likely to be a period when you exploit the real potential from the last three years. This will not only coincide with new developments on the job front, but with Uranus’ final months in your work sector. There will be a push from the money and professional gods to make this period as lucrative as possible. However, apart from a Full Moon on the income from on the 30th May, your income sector will remain empty until Mercury returns on 31st October. This, in reality, is the norm, with the last three years the aberration. Once things pick up again on the 31st October it will be with a vengeance, with Mercury returning just nine days before Jupiter’s return to your income sector on the 9th November which will kick off your most lucrative year in over a decade. Where until now it has seemed that Saturn’s three year visit to your income sector has been the main event, in reality, this has been the training ground, preparing you for lucky Jupiter’s return. However, what that gap from Mars’ departure on the 18th March to Mercury’s return on the 31st October does is give income matters a chance to run their course and play out without intervention. It is also a chance to put some focus on money matters. For the first time in four years, a period of planetary focus on your financial situation and money matters from Venus’ return to your financial sector on the 25th April to the Sun’s departure on the 21st June, will run without planetary activity on the income front and in opposition. This isn’t the major focus the money gods are putting onto income matters, but it is a valuable chance to regroup and get your financial ducks in a row.

Business

To start with it is business as usual on both the job and career fronts, but by midyear, the dynamics of your professional year will change. For your cosmic mates, the response would be ‘doesn’t that happen every year’? And for the rest of us there is always change, but with Uranus in your work sector since 2010, you’ve been locked in the same pattern for years. Over the last two years this has been a mixed blessing, with Jupiter in opposition from September 2016 to October 2017, but with a massive amount of support from Saturn in your income sector, especially last year. The year starts with Uranus in retrograde motion in your work sector, things still playing out on the income front, but with no more planets in opposition. Mars, the last planet to move through a nostalgic part of your chart and into opposition with Uranus left in December. This means that work tension and job pressure of the last two years doesn’t follow you into 2018, but the momentum does. Or at least the potential for momentum, for with Uranus turning direct on the job front on the 3rd January, he and work and job matters are at a standstill as the year begins. This is giving you a valuable chance to the regroup and even after he turns direct, to find your feet, embrace the fact that there is no pressure and approach things at your own speed. Apart from a total solar eclipse in your career sector on 1st February, this professional year won’t really hit its stride until Mercury returns to your work sector on the 6th March. This will open the doors to a quick, sharp update that begins with Mercury’s return on the 6th March and will end with his departure on the 14th May. Normally here for just 15 days, it is the fact that Mercury will turn retrograde from the 23rd March to the 15th April that will keep this smart and intellectually savvy planet around for much longer. And just as well, for with Venus gone by the 31st March and the Sun by the 20th April, this will keep things in play. For on the 16th May, just two days after Mercury leaves, after eight years Uranus will also leave. He will return from the 7th November to the 6th March 2019, but only to tie up loose ends. Your professional year won’t go off the boil during that time, with Eris still keeping things ticking over on the work front and the North Node in your career sector, keeping the professional momentum going. It is the North Node that is responsible for the lunar eclipse on the career front on the 1st February and a solar eclipse on the 11th August. You also have continuous planetary activity on the career front from last September through to the 6th September. However, the most active phase on the career front will run from Venus’ return on the 14th June to Mercury’s departure on the 6th September. The solar eclipse on the 11th August will be right in the epicentre, with the potential for some major new beginnings or opportunities.

 About Scorpio

Scorpios are good at passion. Ruled by dark Pluto, they can turn on the other signs at 500 leagues when the wind is in the right direction. With pheromones like these, Scorpios don't need any other aid. Beyond the bedroom, Scorpios know how to make money and influence people to the degree that they can become quite powerful and respected. Intuitive and sensitive to everything that goes on around them, they can get the edge in almost any encounter. Scorpios generate the kind of excitement that draws people like magnets, and give their projects an air of mystery and secrecy. Scorpios are deeply possessive, and like to know everything about a person or enterprise they are involved with.

The trouble is, they start to enjoy manipulating, and become ruthless in pursuit of their desires. Make sure your love of power is balanced by humanity, because things get really ugly when a Scorpio goes on a power bender.
